In any given year, one in five people in Canada experiences a mental health problem or illness and these issues can be difficult to work through. This program features three Psychiatrists who are willing to see patients to help confirm and explain a diagnosis, review what kinds of medications might work best for you and advise your family physician on next steps in ensuring you are put back on the right path towards optimal mental health.
The Psychiatrist will ask you about the problem that has brought you to see them. They may also ask about anything that has happened in your life, your thoughts and feelings and your physical health. This is so that he or she can get a thorough understanding of your situation and work with you on developing a plan for next steps.
Services at the Edmonton Community Health Hub North require a referral from your family doctor, who is a member of the PCN.
